The Nashville based trio, which features bothers, Oliver and Chris Wood along with Jano Rix, have just released their sixth full length album. One Drop of Truth is considered their most dynamic and showcases songs that each resemble a short-film by their story-telling nature. In support of their new album, The Wood Brothers have set out on a 3-month tour.
The Wood Brothers included two nights in D.C. at the 930 Club, only a few stops into their tour. Last night they performed the first of these two shows. (You can see the full gallery of last night’s photos on On Tap Magazine, here.) Snow may have kept a few people away last night; however, tonight’s show is sold out! Priscilla Renea will be the opening act. Her friendly demeanor on stage as well as her dynamic vocals was quite impressive. Although many people may not recognize her name, Priscilla Renea is a very talented woman. In addition to her own recordings, she has written songs for musical icons such as Rihanna and Kesha. If you are planning to go to the show at the 930 Club this evening, make sure you get there early to see her perform!
If you missed last night’s show at the 930 Club and were not able to get tickets to the sold out show this evening, you will have a third chance to see The Wood Brothers. Monday January 21, they will be performing in York, PA at the historic Strand Theater. Brandon will be at the show, capturing the night in photos. You should definitely check them out and the Strand is a great place to see a show! Tickets are still available, and you can pick them up here!
In the meantime, check out two videos from last’s night’s show at the 930 Club! (All photos and videos copyright and courtesy of Shantel Breen/These Subtle Sounds.)
