Jammin Java Weekend with Ethan Schaefer, Washington Social Club, and Two Ton Twig

As always, special thanks to Mike Stone for grabbing some photos of the performances this past weekend! We are always happy to have him contribute to These Subtle Sounds! Be sure to check out Mike Stone on Instagram for more of his concert photos!

Ethan Schaefer

Ethan Schaefer is a singer/songwriter from Virginia and opened the weekend performances at Jammin Java last Friday. Ethan performed a variety of songs including some of his originals and songs that his dad wrote. He also played a couple of covers by Paul Simon, “Rene and Georgette Magritte with Their Dog After the War” and “Graceland.”  He ended the set with Frank Sinatra’s “Fly Me To The Moon.” Ethan has a new album out that you should definitely check out!

Two Ton Twig

Jammin Java treated fans to a little bluegrass this past Thursday evening. Two Ton Twig won the 2019 Wammie Award for Best Bluegrass Album. The group from Alexandria, Virginia, explores the fringes of traditional bluegrass and string band music with their eclectic blend of modern influences. Sadly, their set was cut short due to storms that rolled into the area, but you can check them out again at DC Music Review and Crescendo Studios Drive in Concert Series on August 21st!
