July 4th Weekend: Celebrating with Live Music at Jammin Java

Jammin Java delivered another weekend of live music including a Friday night sold out show with Oh He Dead and a July 4th show with Courtney King! Special thanks to Mike Stone for contributing these photos and thanks to Jammin Java for bringing some live music back into our lives!

Bluewreck – July 2

Bluewreck is a four-piece band from D.C. and although only two of the members were able to make the show this past Thursday, they performed a great set! Included in their songs, they performed covers by Nirvana, Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, and Foo Fighters!

Oh He Dead – July 3

This was a really great show and definitely the biggest crowd yet at Jammin Java’s “A Song and a Slice” series.  Oh He Dead delivered a jazzy set that got some audience members up on their feet and dancing! They performed a great set including two covers, “Summer Breeze” by Seals and Crofts and “Valerie” – originally performed by The Zutons, but made famous by Amy Winehouse. Check out the setlist and photos from the show below:

Courtney King – July 4

Courtney King is a solo artist in the DC area. Her set included her talent on the flute in addition to the guitar. She performed a lot of covers including

Smells Like Teen Spirit by Nirvana, Just Like Heaven by The Cure, My Hero by Foo Fighters and Stand By Me by Ben E. King. She also delivered a great mash up combining Seven Nation Army by The White Stripes with Sweet Dreams by Eurythmics.
