Reba Meyers Rocks a Performance Gem at The Metro Gallery – 8/13/25

On Wednesday, August 13th, hardcore guitarist Reba Meyers graced Baltimore’s Metro Gallery with her heart felt lyricism and electric guitar mastery. Her stop in Baltimore is the second of ten tour dates on her “Clouded World” Tour, which coincides with the release of her solo debut “Clouded World EP” (August 8, 2025). The EP consists of six tracks including its namesake. Her freshmen full length album is due out sometime in early 2026.

Before embarking on her solo career, Meyers was the guitarist and vocalist for Code Orange, a GRAMMY-nominated metal band, and previously, an indie-alt band called Adventures. Before beginning her “Clouded World” Tour, Meyers also toured alongside Marilyn Manson and was featured in his music video for “Raise the Red Flag.”

The evening started with the Delaware metal band, Ninth Cage. The five piece took the stage and rocked loud, fast and hard for a short but satisfying twenty-minute set.

Next up was Morgan Garrett who walked on stage in a shiny oversized sweat suit. After a brief stage check Morgan stood on stage with the house lights up for a minute or so. At that point the lights shut down and the words “Strobe Light” were shouted. These were the only two recognizable words throughout the show. For the next twenty-five minutes the light continued to strobe to a loud and raucous pre-recorded synth noise track. The artist threw themself around the stage and posed in large numbers of contorted body positions while simultaneously moaning, groaning, and belting out a huge variety of unrecognizable sounds in a deep-throated satanic movie voice. The eerie facial expressions were more frightening than any horror movie as well. A small duct taped guitar was used mostly as a prop and on occasion a six-string noise making machine.

This experimental performance art was like a slam poetry or spoken word reading on 50X super steroids. I feel comfortable stating this was the most bizarre performance I’ve ever witnessed; however, it’s also one of the most creative and unique experimental works I’ve seen. Experience more here.

Reba Meyers

Reba Meyers took the stage alone and started the set with the song “Sanctuary” off her new solo debut EP “Clouded World.” “Sanctuary” is not the in-your-face, hard core metal song some may have expected, but rather a softer, airier, melodic rock song with a dream-like bend. There were many sophisticated chord arrangements which changed frequently throughout the song.  Whether intentionally or not, it was clear from the first note, Reba was going to make a musical statement tonight. This was her music, these were her songs with her lyrics, it was her stage and her show.

The performance was very matter of fact, not forced or theatrical. She appeared to be at ease and comfortable in her new role as a solo performer. Taking advantage of the open space on stage, Meyers moved around freely as she danced with each of her five guitars including her signature ESP and an acoustic which she played on several occasions.

Listen to the Official Video for “Certain Uncertainty” by Reba Meyers:

Reba Meyers’s second song, “Certain Uncertainty,” showcased the power and depth of her voice in an extremely rangy emotive and poetic fashion. The “Clouded World” EP was covered in it’s entirety through the course of the show, as well as, rearranged versions of Code Orange’s “Mirror” and the Adventure’s song “Heavenly.” The set closed with the new EP’s title track “Clouded World,” the new release’s fastest and hardest track, filled with lyrics of rebellious discontent and disillusion. As such, Reba stays true to her roots with heavy and viciously fiery guitar work while aggressively belting out lyrics regarding the need for a personal and worldwide reality check.

Reba Meyers performance at Baltimore’s Metro Gallery was a gem. Many were certainly aware of her guitar prowess while playing with Code Orange over the last decade. With the release and tour of “Clouded World” the breadth of her true talent and versatility as a writer, vocalist and performer are now on full display.

The setlist included:

Sanctuary
Certain Uncertainty
Got Your Hold on Me
Lust Forbidden
Mirror
Heavenly
Bring Us All Together
Clouded World
