Although the weather lately in Baltimore has been on the frigid side, Myles Kennedy turned up the heat at the Soundstage Thursday night.
Myles Kennedy is a busy man, and 2025 is looking to keep the rocker even busier. On the heels of a fantastic new album, The Art of Letting Go (released in the latter half of 2024), it was recently announced that Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators are crafting a new album with Slash. And it also looks like Kennedy is working on new material for Alter Bridge as well.
“Say What You Will” by Myles Kennedy on YouTube:
Opening the evening was LA rockers Sons of Silver and Tim Montana, who shook things up with, among other things, a version of Tupac’s “California Love” that he told the crowd was inspired by a show with Montana, Slash, and frequent collaborator Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top fame.
Myles Kennedy and his band – bassist, Tim Tournier and drummer, Zia Uddin (who also played in Kennedy’s first band, The Mayfield Four) – were incredibly tight, hitting things off with the title track from his new solo album. One thing, seeing Kennedy for the first time with this band was how skilled he is on the six-string. Not only can Kennedy sing like its noone’s business, he can shred with the best.

It’s hard not to get caught up in the style of blues rock that Myles Kennedy performs, and in his capable hands it’s down right infectious. Hitting those high notes in songs like “Tell It Like It Is” while blasting the slide guitar.
A good part of the beginning of Myles Kennedy’s set came from his three solo records, but there were surprises sprinkled in there. As Tournier and Uddin left the stage, Myles Kennedy took to the acoustic guitar to play some older tunes. Not only some Alter Bridge (“Lover” and “All Ends Well”) but he reached back to his old band, The Mayfield Four, and “Mars Hotel” from their sophomore release, Second Skin.
Kennedy and his band wrapped up their regular set with a couple of tunes from Ides of March, “In Stride” and “Get Along” before the trio came back out to encore with “Say What You Will,” a rockin’ way to end a brilliant night of good music.
Myles Kennedy continues his tour through the US before heading over the pond for a Spring tour.
