DREAMERS Stop by D.C. on Second Headlining Tour

We have had the privilege of covering DREAMERS a few times on the blog. Last year, we caught them opening for You and Me at Six at 930 Club and then over the summer, opening for 311 at Merriweather. This past week, DREAMERS performed at Union Stage on their second headlining tour.

Every time I have seen DREAMERS, they perform high energy sets. The show at Union Stage was no exception. Joining DREAMERS on this tour is Irontom from California. They kicked off the night was a great set and it was obvious that the band has developed a following in D.C. as many in the audience were singing along to their songs. Next up was Arrested Youth from Kentucky. Their punk rock set was full of humor and entertainment and the crowd just loved them! Nick Wold, lead singer of the DREAMERS, commented that his favorite thing about being the headlining act was being able to pick the openers. It was a great night of music, so well done on the selections!

DREAMERS took the stage following a clip of Lizzo’s Truth Hurts and opened with the edgy electric song, “Screws” from their EP, Launch. They did a nice job mixing up the set-list. They performed songs from their latest release, Launch Fly Land, their EP Launch, and their debut album, This Album Does Not Exist. Midway through their set, they debut a new song (which was coming out at midnight the night of this show on all digital platforms), Desensitize. This new song packed a lot of power and was a bit more edgy then their current songs. It was very well received by the audience! You can check out this new song from their performance at Union Stage in the video below.

The highlight of their set, for me, came in their amazing cover of Radiohead’s “Karma Police”. Staying true to the original, Nick Wold’s vocals echoed flawlessly throughout the venue. It gave me chills. Following this cover, they rounded out their set with one song from each of their two albums, “Painkiller” and “Die Happy”. DREAMERS returned to the stage to perform their first and very popular song, “Sweet Disaster” to close out the night.

If you have a chance to check out DREAMERS on this tour, you will not be disappointed. In the meantime, check out the photos from DREAMERS, Arrested Youth, and Irontom performing at Union Stage on November 7th. All photos copyright and courtesy of Shantel Mitchell Breen.
