These Subtle Sounds

A place for music lovers

Double Barrel Bluegrass: AJ Lee and East Nash Grass at Union Craft Brewing – 11/14/25

By double barrel, I meant two bands at the venue known for their barrels of beer, Union Craft Brewing in Baltimore, Maryland. AJ Lee and Blue Summit teamed up with East Nashville Grass to make an epic stop at the Maryland brewery.

As the house filled up quickly, my consensus, speaking with the folks that came to see the show that both bands were liked equally among many of the attendees. Baltimore has a rich history of Bluegrass music which seems to have flourished over the decades and tonight was evident of that.

AJ Lee and Blue Summit opened up the music and the female fronted band. AJ played her originals with some moving covers like Harvest, which had an impromptu sing a long, and a great cover of The Monkees “I’m A Believer.” AJ Lee and Blue Summit delivered another great set!

East Nash Grass has been doing a dual tour with AJ Lee and Blue Summit  on this eastern swing and will end in NYC the 23rd of this month. IBMA award winner fiddler Maddie Denton along with frontman guitarist James Kee, Cory Walker a banjo magician and the on and only Harry Clark on the mando took us on a bluegrass journey on this Friday evening delivering to us a resounding set of songs in support of their newest album “All God’s Children” that was released earlier this year. I have personally seen this band on several occasions and will always be one of my favorite bluegrass bands.

Both bands were excellent and had their fans in the zone on this night. As always, get out and see live music!
