I’ve lived in or around Baltimore most of my life and have worked as a social worker in both Baltimore and DC for several years. And for more than 25 years I’ve been going to shows pretty regularly – whether it’s in a basement, art space, or big arenas going to shows as been a part of my life for a long time.
Concert photography took a little longer for me to discover, but over the last few years I’ve had the fortune to photograph some of my favorite performers. And the community surrounding both musicians, writers, and photographers in the DC / Baltimore area is extremely supportive and encouraging! I am constantly in awe of the fantastic talent I see here.
It’s tough to say who my favorite band(s) are, but I can say the best shows are the ones where I’m if I’m feeling a little nervous (which I have to admit is much of the time) as soon as the music starts I forget about everything else (including that nervousness) as I get pulled in.
