We all know the feeling of anticipation of a Friday night concert. That excitement lingers in the pit of your stomach all day. Well, multiply that feeling by 100, when it is a hometown troubadour. Cris Jacobs played to a packed house last Friday night at The Recher in Towson and the anticipation and excitement was evident throughout the venue. To add to this excitement, the opener was another hometown singer songwriter, Caleb Stine.
Caleb Stine always delivers a top performance and after his set, Cris strolled on stage and kicked the night off with “Under the Big Top”, a foot stomping swamp song. The crowd was there to show their love to a man who means a ton to the city of Baltimore! Highlights of the evening were performances of “Painted Roads” and “Devil or Jesse James”. He capped the night off with “Night Birds”.
I have to say, you don’t have to look far in this town to find music that hits to the bone. I am so proud to say I photographed this show. Thanks to Cris for putting everything you have into your music.
Cris Jacobs has just released a video of his cover of Blind Melon’s “No Rain”. This collaboration with animator KC Corbett is the perfect blend of the two artists’ talents.
If you are not acquainted with these fantastic Baltimore musicians, go check out Cris Jacobs and Caleb Stine’s music. You will not regret it! You will have an opportunity to see Cris Jacobs on Thanksgiving Eve and Union Craft in Baltimore. You don’t want to miss this show! Click here for full tour dates.
Peace!
