Eugene Hutz, and his 7 piece gypsy punk band Gogol Bordello return to Baltimore’s Ram’s Head Live about midway through their 15 date, 20th Anniversary tour before heading to Europe.
Their recent set-lists have drawn heavily from 2005’s Gypsy Punks: Underdog World Strike and 2010’s Trans-Continental Hustle as well as a smattering of covers of the likes of The Cramps, Iggy Pop and Elvis Presley. This band melds multiple musical styles and cultural flavors into a froth of pure energy and intensity.
“Gogol Bordello’s task is to provoke (the) audience out of (a) post-modern aesthetic swamp onto a neo-optimistic communal movement towards new sources of authentic energy, with acts of music, theater, chaos and sorcery.”
