It has been 25 years since Live‘s album Throwing Copper and Bush‘s album Sixteen Stones made waves in the 90’s. It is crazy to think that it has been that long. These are two albums that had a huge impact on me. Live was from a town not far from me, York, PA and Throwing Copper had this calm feeling about it. Bush’s Sixteen Stones was this rock drive with the gravel voice of Gavin Rossdale.
The two 90’s powerhouse bands came to MECU Pavillon on a Saturday night and performed to a sold out crowd who was ready for a pure rock and roll show. The energy that Bush brought with them will top any rock show I have been to this year. A highlight of the evening was when Gavin sang “Little Things” while running through the crowd. However, the song “Bullet Holes” was my personal favorite.
A highlight a Live’s set was the cover of REM’s “Losing My Religion”. It was just perfect. Another perfect delivery by Live was the song, “Dolphins Cry”. Live is a band to be reckoned with. Although it has been 25 years, both bands delivered performances that made the audience feel teenagers again seeing them perform in the 90s. I am so hopeful for many more years of new music from both.
