The Wood Brothers kicked off the second leg of their winter tour at Rams Head Live in Baltimore this past Wednesday. Although it was a midweek show, the venue was filled with fans ready to see these incredible musicians. I knew this was going to be a great night and prelude of what this tour would hold.
Kat Wright kicked things off with an infusion of jazz and blues. Her voice was amazing that she could seduce any crowd. By the end of her set, she left the crowd wanting more.
The Wood Brothers took to the stage about 9 PM and started off the night with “Alabaster”, a song off the new album, Kingdom in my Mind. It was clear that tonight’s set was going to focus on this album. Although they performed several new songs, they also rotated in classics such as “I got Loaded”.
The Wood Brothers performed two nights last winter at The Anthem in D.C. in addition to a night in York, PA; however, they haven’t visited Baltimore in quite some time. Chris mentioned, “We were away for Baltimore to long! We are happy to kick this year off right here, in the beautiful room.”
Fans in Philadelphia will have a chance to catch The Wood Brothers at The Fillmore (click here for tickets), and you can read a little more about their new album, Kingdom in my Mind in our preview, here.
