Sometimes music can pull you out of the day to day perils of a stressful busy life. This is exactly what happened to me on Friday evening at The Manor Mill in Monkton, Maryland. After I was worn out from a stress filled day of work, I was treated to a musical journey complements of The High and Wides.
These gentlemen lifted my spirits with their renditions into Bluegrass or as they referred to it as Swing-grass or also regarded as hillbilly boogie. This is a combination of traditional Bluegrass and Western swing music. They have released several albums with Marc Dykeman- guitar/vocals, Sam Guthridge- banjo/ mandolin/vocals, Nate Gower/ fiddle and Mike Buccino/bass. You can check out their music catalog by visiting their website!
You will be able to see them at Charm City Bluegrass Festival in May and you won’t want to miss them. They are very entertaining and I guarantee you’ll be foot stomping before the show is over! In the meantime, head on over the Manor Mill’s website and check out their upcoming events and shows!
