Fans flowed into the House of Blues in Orlando on Friday night for WJRR’s first ever Native Noise concert, despite a category 4 hurricane baring down on Florida. From the moment the doors opened, the crowd was buzzing and ready for a kick ass show and these bands did NOT disappoint. The third act to take the stage, SoulSwitch has a dedicated following and definitely has their finger on the pulse of their fans. As a result, when they took the stage the crowd erupted!
Heavy guitar riffs, awesome hooks, and powerful vocals set these guys apart from other local bands. Their heavy metal and alternative rock sound has put them on the map and their electric stage presence will definitely keep you in the show. From the moment they take the stage, they take control and hold it until the last song ended.
SoulSwitch is a Florida band, formed in 2006. Members include Paul Mahoney (Vocals), Jimmy Kwong (Guitar), Billy Rufrano (Guitar), Matt Larson (Bass) and Don Cadman (Drums). They are regular peformores at WJRR’s Earthday Birthday Music Festival, and they have shared the stage with national bands such as Korn, Sevendust, Five Finger Death Punch, Papa Roach and many others. I have had the pleasure of seeing them several times over the years and am never disappointed.
If you want to break away from the mainstream rockers and listen to a band that’s on the rise, SoulSwitch needs to be on your playlist. Have a listen below and enjoy the photos from their set. All photos copyright and courtesy of Chris Cornett Photography.
