Perfectly placed on Capitol Hill, The Miracle Theatre brings the element of live music to the already bustling night life in the area. Headlining the stage on Saturday, October 23rd was Madison Cunningham, a 25 year-old Californian singer and songwriter. Cracking off her performance with “Last Boat to Freedom” off of her hit EP “For the Sake of Rhyme”, Cunningham was quick to take the crowd under her influence. The packed theatre consisted of all types of people, all brought together by the shared love for Cunningham’s entrancing music.
The intimate performance brought audience members into Madison’s world of storytelling through her chords, and the mutual energy between concertgoers and musicians was felt throughout the venue. Though parts of Madison’s tracks seem at points mellow and delicate, the successful collaboration and harmony between band members Kyle Crane, Solomon Dorsey, Philip Krohnengold, and, of course, Cunningham, aided in the utterly enthralling crescendos and decrescendos of the intensity and tone of the music, and in effect, the entirety of the scene. Madison Cunningham’s discography is not one you don’t want to live life without.
