It’s a Wednesday evening in the city of York, Pa. On the corner of George and Philadelphia Streets there were a couple of tour busses parked on the curb. That could only mean one thing, there’s a band at the Appell Center for the Performing Arts and what a band it was!
I’ve seen Lake Street Dive in the original lineup some years ago. Rachel Price fronting the quintet, took us on a vocal roller coaster backed by original members Bridget Kearney on bass and Michael Calabrese on percussion with new member, James Cornelison, on guitar. Rounding out the band was Akie Bermiss handling the keys and added to the vocals. The group played mostly their songs but restyled a few covers as well.
This was yet another excellent performance at The Appell Center. My hats off to the members of the team and crew for bringing in excellent live music to York.
