Hippo Campus Stops by Rams Head Live on May 7th

Hippo Campus formed in 2013 by high school friends who just wanted to have fun making music. However, over the last 5 years, the band has grown into something more purposeful. The band is currently on tour in support of their second album, Bambi which was released last fall.

Bambi delivers songs with a deeper meaning, addressing mental health issues, relationships, and even current events. The band’s hope for Bambi is to help listeners deal with their own pain that they may be experiencing.
Lead vocalist and guitarist, Zach Sutton says, “I’ve always considered the responsibility of art to be representing your specific experience. We’re saying, ‘This is what I’m doing now, this what I’m living like.’ It’s about sharing what you’re going through, so maybe someone else will feel less lonely.”

Hippo Campus connected with the audience at Rams Head Live last Tuesday evening and delivered an outstanding performance. The band opened with the single from their latest release, “Bambi”. They followed it with the second to last song on the album, “Golden”. The setlist was evenly split with songs from the first two albums, as well as, “Suicide Saturday”, “Violet”, and “South” from their 2015 EPs.

The band continues its rather lengthy tour through the summer which includes Firefly Festival, two nights at ACL Live and two nights at Red Rocks in Colorado. They will also be performing two nights in NYC: May 30th at Warsaw and May 31st at Governors Ball. Visit their website for more information on upcoming shows and links to purchasing tickets!
