Touted as Franks Birthday Bash with two unique sold out sets, Frank Solivan & Dirty Kitchen came to Stages Music Arts in Cockeysville, Maryland this past Saturday night. The venue was really nice. Although small, it was very intimate and provided an “up close” feeling to the enjoyment of the guests.
The band consists of local musician, Mike Munford on the banjo, Seattle native Chris Luquette playing guitar, Nashville’s Jeremy Middleton on electric bass and Frank Solivan on mandolin and vocals. The band played their progressive style bluegrass proving why they were Grammy nominated and why The Dirty Kitchen has multi IBMA awards.
As the first set was rolling along Frank brought Jillian Lea up to the stage flute in hand. She played some tunes with Frank and some with The Dirty Kitchen. She was a pleasant addition to the band. I missed the cutting of the cake, but was thoroughly entertained and wish I could have stayed for more. I feel Frank Solivan & Dirty Kitchen is one of the best bluegrass bands and always brings a great show.
