You may not have heard of DREAMERS. However, you will most likely recognize their songs. That is because they have been getting substantial airplay on local radio stations and that is not a surprise. I first became acquainted with DREAMERS when a friend sent me a link to one of their songs. This friend is always finding new music and sending me songs that I end up hearing on the radio a few months later. The song he sent me was “Sweet Disaster” and I liked it instantly.
So, I did some research on this three-piece band and found that they have been making music since 2014. Their first single, “Wolves (You Got Me)” was played regularly on Sirius XM’s Alt Nation and eventually they landed a record deal which produced their first album, This Album Does Not Exist in 2016. “Sweet Disaster” was their first single from this album and the song that introduced me to the band. Although the band only has one full length album, they have released several EPs. DREAMERS will be releasing their second album this year.
Unfortunately, I missed their first headlining show in the area this past fall when they performed at Union Stage. Fortunately, Photo Passed covered the show and you can read about it here. However, DREAMERS returned to the area opening for You Me at Six at the 930 Club this past Sunday night.
Although their set was only 30 minutes long, DREAMERS kept us awake the entire time with their 7-song set list. Their lowly lit stage was back-lit with their name as they took the stage to The Killers, “Mr. Brightside”. The band kicked their set off with “Screws” from the 2018 EP, Launch. This song set the club on fire with its driving beat, catchy guitar solo, and Nick Wold’s crystal clear vocals. DREAMERS also performed their newly released single, Die Happy which was well received by the crowd.
DREAMERS kept the energy going by ending their set with three songs from their first album, This Album Does Not Exist: “Wolves”, “Painkiller”, and then closing with “Sweet Disaster”. This last song was clearly the highlight of the night for everyone in the club. Despite only performing for 30 minutes, DREAMERS were on top of their performance with a non-stop energetic set. In my opinion, they could have been the headlining act.
I am looking forward to great things from this band. There is no doubt in my mind that they will be setting out on their own headlining tour very soon! Be sure to check them out!
