Monday night in Harrisburg, people from all around anxiously anticipated the return of Cage the Elephant at Riverfront Park. Originally scheduled for June 2020, the show was postponed over a year later due to the coronavirus pandemic that brought all in-person live music to a halt. Now, halfway through 2021, fans were lined up to finally see the Shultz brothers perform with their band.
Cage the Elephant was established when the members were simply high school students. The band quickly gained international traction after moving to London just months after forming the band in 2007. With four studio albums and an extensive live LP, Cage the Elephant has landed on the Billboard top 10 with 11 singles, and successfully had 7 #1 Billboard singles over the last 14 years, making them a staple in the alternative rock scene.
At Riverfront Park on Monday, fans were happy to hear fan favorites “Ain’t No Rest for the Wicked” and “Cold Cold Cold”, along with a variety of deep cuts from other albums, including several highlights from Melophobia and Tell Me I’m Pretty. The night began with “Broken Boy”, the first track on their latest album release, Social Cues, and finished with “Cigarette Daydreams” and “Teeth”. Special thanks to Harrisburg University Presents to another great night of music! Be sure to check out their website for upcoming shows that you won’t want to miss!
