I have seen Lucius perform at least a half dozen times, and I can’t wait to see them open for Brandi Carlile on Friday at Merriweather Post Pavilion. Jess and Holly, the lead vocalists, always arrive on stage wearing matching wardrobes and hairstyles that contribute to the theatrics of their otherworldly musical performances. They have the ability to mesmerize their audiences with their tender lyrics and musical stylings that go deeper than the brand “indie pop.”
Seven-time Grammy Award Nominated and three-time Grammy Award-Winning singer-songwriter, Brandi Carlile, has been producing brilliant studio albums since 2007. I love that Carlile has always been open about the power of LGBTQ+ representation in music. She also expresses the importance of LGBTQ+ artists to be open about who they are, despite potential risks that may arise. I am looking forward to hearing her perform songs from her latest album, By the Way, I Forgive You. Many of the songs of touch on contemporary issues such as addiction, bullying, and immigration. Brandi has always has been so open about that which she believe is just and right.
This will definitely be a show that you do not want to miss! Make plans to come to Merriweather this Friday, June 14th! It will be a night of great music by three outstanding female musicians! Tickets are still available and can be purchased here!
