All the bad kids gathered at Union Stage for Black Lips

Atlanta’s own Black Lips stopped by Union Stage in D.C. last Sunday. They played a mixture of new songs from their latest album, Sing In A World That’s Falling Apart, as well as, songs from their other acclaimed albums. The performance and overall vibe of the crowd was reminiscent of something like the Mudd Club or CBGB back in their hayday. People sitting on the ground, people head banging, alcohol flying through the air, loud music, and a very chaotic energy. The passion behind their performance was my favorite thing of night.

Warish, Riley Hawk’s band, opened for Black Lips which was a nice and welcomed surprise, even though it was a weird billing musically.
